I'm going from Bloomington to Midway Friday afternoon to pick-up family.  Is there any construction that needs avoided and how would I miss it?

I went down to Starved Rock on Sunday. There was about 9 miles of construction on I80, begining just west of I55.

Why is it these idiots work on every road at the same time. Wouldn't it make more since to consolidate efforts by working on one road at a time ? Just an observation.
