Is gonn'a be Mitt Romney and Allen West, and although I don't care for Romney; they'll be the next President and Vice President of the United States.
Too bad West won't be atop the ticket though. |

The Republican ticket is going to need someone with bona-fide conservative creds in order to offset Romney's weakness in that regard to win in November and since Romney is from the NE; I don't believe that Christie will get the VP nod.
Either Rubio or West would be great additions to the ticket; it's my guess that it's going to be Allen West. |

Why would they put a conservative on the ticket? If you guys bend over and nominate Romney, then the GOP establishment knows there is nothing that you won't accept. They might even put Hillary on the ticket and dare you to vote for Obama! On the other hand, the establishment does need to maintain the two-party false paradigm, so they might throw you a bone by putting a "conservative" on the ticket. By "conservative", I mean somebody who appears to be conservative but who really is not. Sort of like a Dan Quayle NWO type. Also, I disagree about the regional (NE) considerations. With the electronic integration of society, consolidation of power in Washington, and mass movement of Americans across the country, geography is less a consideration now than ever before. Gore lost his home state in 2000 and lost the election despite having two "southerners" on the ticket. And Gingrich couldn't even gin up enough support to get on the ballot in his home state of Virginia. |
