Is gonn'a be Mitt Romney and Allen West, and although I don't care for Romney; they'll be the next President and Vice President of the United States.

Too bad West won't  be atop the ticket though.

I think whoever gets the nom will be foolish to pass up on Marco Rubio (R-FL).

Florida is a purple state and very important to put in your win column.

Don't write off Chris Christie as a possible VP candidate either.  He was practically begged by the Republican party to leave NJ and run for president which he refused.  However he recently said he would absolutely entertain a VP nomination.

The Republican ticket is going to need someone with bona-fide conservative creds in order to offset Romney's weakness in that regard  to win in November and since Romney is from the NE; I don't believe that Christie will get the VP nod.

Either Rubio or West would be great additions to the ticket; it's my guess that it's going to be Allen West.

I for one would have to hold my nose on that one. Not very conservative in my book. Not strong on gun rights either. Northeast version of a Republican. The will need someone from the South to do well.

If Romney gets it, he will not be picking a conservative.  He will pick someone like him, like Huntsman or Christie.

Why would they put a conservative on the ticket?

If you guys bend over and nominate Romney, then the GOP establishment knows there is nothing that you won't accept.  They might even put Hillary on the ticket and dare you to vote for Obama!

On the other hand, the establishment does need to maintain the two-party false paradigm, so they might throw you a bone by putting a "conservative" on the ticket.  By "conservative", I mean somebody who appears to be conservative but who really is not.  Sort of like a Dan Quayle NWO type.

Also, I disagree about the regional (NE) considerations.  With the electronic integration of society, consolidation of power in Washington, and mass movement of Americans across the country, geography is less a consideration now than ever before.  Gore lost his home state in 2000 and lost the election despite having two "southerners" on the ticket.  And Gingrich couldn't even gin up enough support to get on the ballot in his home state of Virginia.

I see Rubio way before West.

The hispanic vote is far more important (and more avaliable) than the black vote and West is seen as a loose canon by the establishment.

I like West.  The idea that he'll be on a ticket with Romney is ludicrous, as are the ideas that a Romney/West ticket could defeat Obama, or that Romney in the white house would be a non-trivial improvement over Obama.  Your political experience means jack shit if it has led you to these conclusions.

Why is it ludicrous to believe that Allen West would be the Republican VP nominee?

Politically he has little to lose being that he is only a Congressman and as such, needs to run for reelection continuously.

I can see why Rubio wouldn't take the second position on the ticket; but Allen West , who I have had the pleasure of meeting, would, and he is a great guy who would make a great figure in national politics for people like us.

I'm not a Romney fan but I don't believe it is trivial to elect an individual other than Obama since SCOTUS is too important to appoint any more justices of the ilk he appoints.

Romney will get the nomination and will put Sarah Palin on the bottom of the ticket.

He will then realize that he likes Sarah on bottom better than he ever liked his wife on top of him.

He will leave his wife, who will file for divorse.

He will move Sarah into the White House as his lover.  She will lubricate his cigars in the Oval Office

Mittens will get booted out of the Mormon faith.  He fails to give a shit.

He will then come out of the closet as the godless communist flip-flopping heathen that we all knew he was from the beginning.

He will move the White House to Las Vegas and he and Sarah will make condom-less porn together.

From Vegas he will prepare planes to attack Boulder, Co...which as been a gathering point for arfcommers, who have been directed there by dreams of a colored black woman from Nebraska.

For the rest of the story...you'll have to buy the book
