The 2 threads concerning Lauer Custom were moved to the Mod forum. After witnessing the effect this site can have on a business it is only fair that Lauer Custom has the chance to  resolve these issues with DVDTracker & FMJunkie before they are burned at the stake in the GD forum. So I would ask as a favor that the AR15.com Army stand down at this time.
Thanks.

Agreed.  They are friends-in-arms, and should be treated as such.
We only lynch those who deserve it.
Sorry about the Garand, DVD.  That sucks.

Damn I missed something.  Could I get a broad report of what happened?

We'll save the ammo for someone who REALLY needs it.  LCW will make it right, even if the Garand is toast, I am sure.

I know, but I will let DVD and FMJunkie explain, if they choose.

I was just wondering.  I was considering sending my M4 to have it painted in urban camo or tiger stripe.  I would like to know, but will wait till those involved feel like they can comment.
Thanks

You mean they smoked a garand AND an AR10?

The quality of the work was exemplary, but there were a couple of snags regarding WHAT got coated.  There was also an issue with alignment of a part.

Mis-aligned parts and mis-coated surfaces = exemplary work?

Ok, I think I understand now. I just now noticed the banner ad.

They put a guy's break on rotated 90 degrees, and another guy left a 50 rifle to get painted, and he also left a glock and garand with them to ship back with the 50 so he didn't have to take them on the plane with him. They painted all of them. Understandable mistake.

In my opinion moving the threads and making this announcement is only going to cause exactly what you are trying to prevent.  In the two threads no one was slamming Lauer.  Every response I saw was well within the conduct codes.

I hope this is not the beginning of a trend.  If we cannot have reasonable discussions about advertisers to the board then we definitely have a problem.

I meant that there were a couple of ITEMS that were coated, that were not meant to be.  There appeared to be an error in communication.

We just want them to have an opportunity to make it right before we blast them.

I didn't move them because someone violated the conduct code. I moved them to prevent Lauer Custom getting bad publicity before they had a chance to respond.
I agree with you though Aggie that this thread will probably end up doing what we are trying to avoid.
So..I'll lock it and ask that no new threads are started untill DVDTracker and or FMJunkie choose to post an update.
[blue]edited to add. I received an e-mail from one of the thread authors who is alright with our decision to move his thread until he has a chance to contact Lauer. He will post an update tomorrow night.[/blue]
