I was listening to our parish (county) sheriff's office last night. In the space of about an hour and a half, beginning around 11:30, here is what I picked up:
1. Woman riding on a public road on a 4 wheeler with an infant. 2. Reports of a pickup truck going down the road and occupants firing guns out of the windows. They ended up catching them. 3. Large party of approximately 100 people in a ghetto subdivision a few miles down the road. Near riot from what I could tell. ALL patrolling units converged there. 4. Several reports of groups of people riding 4 wheelers and motorcycles into peoples fields and yards, tearing shit up, knocking down fences and letting cattle out. 5. Several speeding / DWI arrests. 6. Bar fight in the local podunk town. Apparently the local cops needed help from the sheriffs office. Also, last night just stepping out into my yard near midnight, I could hear lots of gunfire going on. Since this is a rural area, not much the cops bother to do other than report it. Mind you, this is in a predominantly rural parish. Dunno WTF is wrong with some people these days. I guess NYE just brings out the idiots. Don't get me wrong, when I was younger I liked to party, but I drew the line at doing illegal, stupid shit. LC |
