Why not have every state vote on the same day? Seems like every year I can't vote for my candidate because they drop out after Iowa, and New Hampshire.

Money.  The only way to compete in a national campaign is with cubic miles of money.  You've basically sold the office to the best fund raiser/most corrupt candidate.

Yep. Pisses me off. Wonder what would happen if every state voted on the same day?

because people would vote for their candidate instead of their candidate.

Not just on the same day, but also no msm predictions or declarations of winners until the polls close in the latest time zone in the country.

I'm four hours behind the left coast, by the time I get home and go to vote, winners are already declared.

Anybody know the history of the primaries? Has this always been done like this?

Been thinking along those lines for a few years now:  Universal Poll Opening and Closing Time across the Country, and a 48 hour news black out on exit polling data.

The Years that there is a Presidential Election:
All Polls across the Country shall open at 8am Eastern, and Close 8pm in Hawaii.  No reporting of Election Results until these are official and certified.

Needs to be done, to give everyone a voice in the Primary.

EDIT:  I plan to introduce this as a plank at the caucus when I attend.  Not that it will get much attention.

Then how will they know which states they need to double vote in to get the nod?

Not sure, but I'd bet it revolves around FDR, and/or Woodrow Wilson.

Want to talk about corrupt, Illinois is corrupt! I cannot even vote in a primary due to the fact that you must declare your party and this declaration is known to the Dems. And the reason why I can't is that my business does work for the state which if it were known I was a Republican we might lose contracts.

I am not sure either, but is worthy of note that in days gone by state A could have a primary in January, and the folks voting in state B's primary in May might well have had no idea how the previous vote went.
