We run an online store and recently I have had two people in foreign countries approach us online about buying things.  This is different from the old scam where they send you a check and it is fake. Both people are offering to pay with a Visa card so I'm thinking.......once the card processes this money is mine, so if it is a scam how do they work that?  Does Visa somehow give them their money back after shipment?  I've got one guy who uses the old "We will pay you and then you pay our shipper' line but if he pays with a Visa card and sends extra for the shipper why the hell would I care if I send someone else the excess?  How would they work this with a credit card?  I don't understand.

Yup. Shipper is probably fake too. They could also just reverse the charges.

Read your merchant agreement - no hard copy signature = real easy chargeback to you by the card owner.
