I watched this documentary on Reagan last night on HBO: http://www.hbo.com/documentaries/reagan/index.html I thought it was going to be a hit-piece based on some foreshadowing right off the bat, but it seemed pretty good. The editing of the people interviewed was kinda weird as it didn't make anybody look like they agreed or disagreed w/ Reagan's policies. Then I got to the end and some blow hard economics prof from MIT went on about how Reagan destroyed the middle class and only made his wealthy friends wealthier  I've always wondered, if these folks really believed that, then why did Clinton's reign have such economic prosperity without congress or his administration doing much of anything  Could it be that the increased economic activity actually produced the result Reaganomics intended  Fuckers. Anyway, it's worth a watch, but take the commentary w/ a grain of salt. Speed |
