So this vodka thread I replied to yesterday got me thinking that its about time for me to get back on the cocktail wagon. I drink plenty of beer, I also brew plenty so they kinda go hand in hand. But now I need the collective wisdom of the Hive. I have a 1.75L of Sobieski vodka and I am looking for new ways to consume it this weekend. When I drink hard alcohol I prefer whiskey or brandy waters, or straight, I don't do anything froo-froo or sugary. Give me your best/favorite vodka drink. Thanks ![]() ETA: To those who can't figure it out, I am looking for cocktail ideas that feature vodka. |

vodka manhattan
3 parts out of 6 vodka 1 part out of 6 sweet vermouth 2 parts out of 6 dry vermouth you can adjust to taste the vermouth proportion, depending how sweet you like it or even make the vodka proportion more after a while, you can just go by color either stir in a few ice cubes and pour off or leave them in, if you prefer and....of course, a twist of lime skin to get those oils out tread gently....this is a powerhouse this recipe was given to me by my spinster aunt, god rest her soul she was all of 99 pounds and i have no idea how she could even drink ONE of these! |

Quoted: put said vodka in freezer along w/ shot glass or other small cocktail glass remove from freezer pour vodka into glass and sip/drink repeat as necessary put vodka back into freezer wash glass and put back into freezer This seems like it lacks in repect for the drink. Should we not savor the flavor more? |

The Bloody Caesar is sometimes referred to simply as a Caesar and is a slight variation of the Bloody Mary. The Caesar is a popular drink in Canada and replaces the tomato juice of the Mary with clamato juice (clam and tomato juice) for a twist. While clamato makes this a drink one that not everyone will like, but for those who do it makes a great brunch cocktail and another that should help alleviate hangover pains.
Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutesYield: 1 Cocktail Ingredients: •1 1/2 oz vodka •4 oz clamato juice •2 dashes Worcestershire sauce •dash of Tabasco sauce •celery salt •lime wedge •pepper to taste •celery salt •celery stalk for garnish Preparation: 1.Rim a highball glass with the juice from the lime wedge and a combination of celery salt and salt. 2.Add the vodka and clamato juice. 3.Season with pepper, Worcestershire and Tabasco sauces to taste. 4.Stir well. Ad a pickle or a couple of peeled prawns and enjoy !

Wish me luck. See you all monday.
