As the wings flutter and fall off of the leading Not-Romneys, I wonder about this guy who's been pretty much a footnote so far.
What's the scoop on him? |
|
he is a piece of shit leftist who was the OBAMA appointed ambassador to china. he claims to be a "conservative", but touts all left leaning positions. that and i want to smack that stupid look off his face when he raises his eyebrow like the rock.
ANYONE who would work with obama or his ilk should be out, including gingrich for that stupid picture with pelosi. |

Huntsman = Romney Lite. Seriously. The guy is the ulitmate political opportunist. I'd trust Romney more on the Second Amendment. And In Before Juni4ling. ![]() I will only say three things... One... He signed Campus Carry in Utah, and the NRA only had positive things to say about his involvement in expanding gun rights through his elected position. Two... He was elected *twice* in the most conservative state in the Union. Three... The ambassadorship to China is/was the most influential foreign position available. Obama's foreign experience when elected: zilch. Huntsmans foreign policy experience can only be rivlaled by a few. It cannot be rivaled by anyone in the Republican debates. As for him being a political opportunist, he may very well be... As for him being able to win... I don't think he has any real possibility... Secretary of State in a Cain or Perry Cabinet is probably the pinnacle of his political trajectory... Will I support him in the primaries? Nope. Would I vote for him against Obama? Yep. I believe his gun-rights record when governor of Utah is clear, I think he would have never been elected *twice* in the most conservative state in the US if he didn't have a conservative resume, and I think his real-life foreign experience dwarfs Obama's. |

He gets a lot of hatred here and he gets tarred and feathered as a "leftist" and RINO, but iIMO it's undeserved. He was ambassador to China for Obama. Really, so what? He wants to cut the corporate tax rate, said in the past that he won't sign an assault weapons ban and wants renewed oil/gas exploration. He said he believes global warming is partially man made; big deal, that just means he trusts of the scientists who study the issue. He hasn't said what if anything his policy would be in that area. Republicans could do a lot worse than nominate him. In fact, we will. |

From what I've seen so far of his campaign, he seems to pandering more to the left-leaning part of the GOP and to more left-leaning persons outside of the GOP he would have to face if he ever made it to the general. |

All you need to know about Huntsman. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/scott-whitlock/2011/10/21/matthews-smears-all-other-gopers-race-crazy-huntsman-replies-thank-y ETA for those too lazy to click above. Chris MATTHEWS: Anyway- You know what I want to say to you? Thank you for your service. Thank you for your service, for being the same man in the Republican Party. It reminds us there's actually someone who has their feet on the ground. JON HUNTSMAN: Thank you, Chris. CHIS MATTHEWS: We all think we like you. We won't destroy you by saying you're doing well, because that'll probably kill you. Tell your friends to come over. We'd like to see some of them, too. |

A candidate thinks they are better than all the rest, and tries smearing them on TV... ?-? ––Pretentious gasp–– Of all the nerve... Now I have heard everytthing.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Matthews is a douche, to be clear. But Huntsman isn't going to win the Republican nomination, and it has absolutely nothing to do with him disrespecting the other candidates on TV... |

All the smart people I know decide which political candidates they like based on the whims of those they consider their enemy. If Chris Mathews said he _hated_ Achmadinnerjacket I, for one, would instantly put him at the top of my list! |

The Huntsman family has done a great deal of good for Utah and Huntsman jr. did a decent job as Governor. He's far too moderate for arfcom, but he has a wide experience base, he's second ammendment friendly, and is not so far right that he will go up in flames in the general election.
If Romney wasn't the Mormon darling of the primaries and Huntsman was a bit more willing to get his hands dirty, Hunstman might give the GOP a reasonable chance of winning against Obama. But, the GOP is its own worst enemy and will elect someone who will completely alienate the county in the general election. |

The thing is that moderates never advance the cause and sometimes further the advance of the opposing agenda which we are trying to fight. If we cannot advance our cause, even when we have political controul of every branch of governmen, what is the point of running anyone at all? |
