Des Moines police investigate suspicious device
Des Moines police blocked off the area of Walnut Street between Third and Fourth streets today to investigate a suspicious device on the ground near a street lamp. Des Moines police said someone reported a piece of plastic pipe with endcaps on it laying on the ground just south of Nollen Plaza. The department’s hazardous device team investigated the device while the area was blocked off from about 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. A public works employee said the device was a dispenser for dog waste bags. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20111113/NEWS/111113006/Des-Moines-police-investigate-suspicious-device |

I see the need to examine every little piece of trash along the route if you are driving through Kandahar but here in Columbia, SC a cardboard box laying on the side of the road is 9,999x more likely to have blown out of the back of someones truck than to be a terrorist IED. I mean come on, if we are going thorugh life living in absolute terror every minute of every hour doesn't that mean that the "terrorists" have already beat us? |
