Having worked in the advertising industry for many years, I can tell you that the value of CNN to advertisers has fallen dramatically. Especially when compared to FNC. FNC's premium programming gets about 3 x the viewers as CNN in the same day part. And about 4 x the viewers as CNBC and MSNBC. CNN still gets fair numbers in the metro markets, like NYC, L.A., Chicago, etc..., but gets killed in the mid-west, southwest, and central U.S. Look at the number of CNN newscasters who have jumped ship. And many over to Fox. Within the next few years, CNN will be forced to undergo a major makeover or cease to exist. |
