| My girlfriend has a problem with her phone (HTC Aria). When she set up her gmail account for whatever reason she used her work email. She has since changed jobs and the work email account she used is no longer valid. Now when she tries to access the Android Market place it asks for her gmail password. The password has been reset by her former employer so upon entering the old password it says "password not valid" and blocks her out of the market place. The only solution I can think of is to do a factory reset on the phone after backing up contacts and such but was wondering if there was another way around this. I know we have some tech geeks here who might have a solution. |

settings>accounts&sync>add new gmail account, remove old one. This. Remove the old account first. I have this issue with my Droid 3 anytime I upload a video to YouTube. Edit-Removing the old account will relieve you of ripping your hair out and the service call to Verizon ATT. |

cleak market data? do you have root access? If so this makes fixing the problem much easier for me. What does it say when you click the "remove account" button? Says I can only remove the account by reset to factory defaults. No root access. darn. might have to do the factory reset unless you can access your gmail account online and somehow get the password. Check this thread. Post ten might have a answer. I believe Google does this so if your phone is stollen you can change the password and it basically requires the thief to do a reset so they cannot access your Google stuff. sorry no hotlinking since I'm on my phone androidforums.com/android-applications/239687-help-delete-gmail-account-without-factory-reset.html |
