Where are the sites to shop these, and how have they been in your experience?

Thanks!

What size, gas or diesel?

There are deals to be had, but you can also get burned pretty easily if you don't know what you are doing.

From my experience using them, I'd much rather own a Honda inverter generator.

Our generators are loud, heavy, run on diesel (not necessarily a bad thing, but if it's your only diesel engine than it's going against fuel commonality), and I would suspect that any of them that end up on the gov't liquidation websites have been used, used, and used some more.

.mil gens get beat up, mostly by people who dont know how to run them. I love me some 5k MEP-802(?)s though.

I have an EU2000 and will be purchasing a diesel standby generator (I have no ng and don't want lp tank) in the 20kw range for my house in the spring, looking for a couple inexpensive surplus gens to loan out and leave on job sites for now.  Also, I sell and install generators as part of my job.

.govliq was the site I was mainly looking for, thanks!  Keep other sites coming, and experience with them.  Loud is okay, from my understanding they are somewhat fuel efficient.  Gas OR diesel are fine, not much of a preference with that one.  I had just assumed most would be diesel.
