While looking for a shooting mat I came across the Midway USA brand mats.  Does anyone have one of these and are they any good?

They seem nice from the ones I have seen.  They look waterproof on the bottom.  That helps.

Buy with confidence is my opinion.

I'm cheap and use a tarp to lay on and catch my brass.

I used the Midway USA mat for a 2 day appleseed shoot on gravel.

It was pretty comfortable and held up just fine. Buy with confidence.

I have one that I have used once.  It worked.  It isn't a Rolls Royce but a functional Ford.

Sir, I looked at the shooting mats shown on the Midway web site.  I've seen a few of them in use by other shooters at various matches.  While I don't see anything wrong with what Midway is selling I will say that in my humble opinion there are better choices.  Check out the mats sold by Champion Shooters supply of New Albany Ohio.  They are a regular dealer on commercial row at the National Matches and I have used one of their delux mats for quite a few years.  When the rubber elbow pads wore out on my first mat I took it to them during the National Matches and they replaced it for the cost of the rubber.  I bought another mat to use while they were repairing my old one and now I have two.  My son uses the old one now.  Much better value IMHO.  7zero1 out.

Bought one one from Creedmore a couple of months ago paid $35.

Was looking at that one at Midway, has lots of good reviews.

I bought a couple for me & BlammO Jr. when they had them on sale.  I'm totally satisfied.  I've never used a high dollar one, but I can't think of any shortcomings at all in the Midway version.

They are GTG but only buy when on sale. They're always on sale.

picked up a pair on sale a while back - fully functional.  Not the best, but good enough.

I second this.  They have 2 versions - one that's usually on sale for around $29 (normally $5-ish), and another, newer version that's usually on sale for $45 (normally $90-ish).  I have a couple of the cheaper ones.  The only issue I have had - and have seen on others - is that once I got my shooting coat, the rubber on the elbows was stressing and tearing the stitching out between the black panels.  Other than that, I've had them for 4 years now, and they've been good to go.
