Anybody doing this?
Does it work OK? Thinking about a MacMini hooked up to the JVC using an HDMI cable. |

I did this with my 37 inch 1080p HDTV for a while. Impressive for gaming on, but if you sit as close to it as you would with a normal size monitor, then pixel pitch/DPI - whatever you call it - comes into play. I could just see the 'lines' that are made up of the gaps between the pixels at normal viewing distance, and if I look even closer, as I sometimes did while sniping in singleplayer, I could even see the RGB sub-pixel elements. |

My 'second monitor' for both my work laptop (when in my home office) and my PC is a 19" HDTV. Works fine. It sits between my normal monitor and my Laptop dock. I just switch the input to the computer I want to use it on. It's the right screen for my laptop and the left one for my PC.
I don't use that one all the time, only when I'm multitasking. And I sometimes (like right now) am using it as a TV. My personal laptop is also usually hooked up via HDMI to my 60" Mitsu in the living room, so I can surf out there if I feel like it. |

I've had my macbook hooked up to my old 52" Sharp Aquos and now currently have my HP desktop and AppleTV running to a 32" Vizio. To get clear font, you'll have to set the resolution usually pretty high, which inevitably makes things smaller, so I think distance is a big factor here. Hard to say how it will work, I'm not familiar with the max resolution supported by your Mac Mini and the TV but it's fun to do. Don't forget, you have Front Row on the Mac, so with a remote, you can use the Mac––->TV as a pretty nice media server setup. |

I assume it could drive the TV at the TV's highest rez. I'm thinking I would use Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Based on everything in this thread, I'm thinking it will work pretty well. |

Should work fine. I've used my mac in the past with the bluetooth mouse and keyboard and it was nice to have the bigger screen. It just gets a little small with the text depending on resolution. But obviously YMMV. |
