".mil"

.mil is a domain. Like .com, .edu, .net. If someone is referring to the military, why don't they just say military or mil, why "DOT MIL".

I'm guessing it's due to people that don't understand punctuation.

Like people who put an apostrophe on all of their plural's.

".mil" is the extension for DoD websites and email addresses, for example [email protected]. We use it a lot to refer to our DoD email accounts... other than that I don't know why anyone would use it to refer to the military... that's just craziness.

Or people who abbreviate the year as: 11'. The apostrophe goes at the front. For example, 2011 = '11 not 11'

i refer to ya'll as .mil, just like i refer to our government as .gov
