| My normal work shift is from 3:30pm until Midnight, Monday to Friday. However, I am being put on the morning shift for two weeks, which is from 3:30 am until 12:45pm, to cover someone going on vacation. I need to be able to fall asleep at 6 or 7pm tonight, and wake up at 2:30am tomorrow morning. During my normal work schedule, I go to sleep at about 5am and wake up at 1pm. I'm seriously going to have trouble falling asleep early tonight. I woke up early today to try to compensate, but it probably won't be enough. Are there any good OTC sleep aids that might help me get to sleep early tonight? |

Melatonin works if you're looking for non-prescription. I'm not a big fan of Nyquil, it makes me feel a bit "loopy" the next day.
I've found reading technical manuals in bed knocks me out in seconds. The equipment I work on has 3,000 page Maintenance manuals and 1,700 page Administrator guides. RFC's are good too, right now I'm suffering through RFC3261. Geeky-me loves making this stuff work, but ADHD-me can't stand reading the boring docs - I make it about 3 paragraphs before I start day-dreaming about getting my wife nekkid. Give this a try, guaranteed to put you to sleep: RFC3261 |

Those distractions will just keep you up. Sex or masturbation probably helps too. |
