The 1% is referring to the top 1% of Income Earners in the Country. They believe the top 1% are screwing over the 99%. The whole the rich are getting rich while the poor are getting poorer, class envy, hate the rich mentality. That is my understanding.

It's the same liberal, hippie, whiny ass, give me something for free shit we always see.

Some of the 99% are a bunch of whiney ass people that don't want to do anything for themselves and expect help from everyone else to progress in their lives, more of the 99%'ers are people that are past the point of lost and helpless and they are asking the government for some sort of Liberty.
Definitely some whiners, definitely some legit points.

It's kind of a large unorganized clusterfuck right now though. No leadership, no solid points, just a bunch of random points trying to be yelled over one another.

I get what they're trying to do, I just don't know how much it's helping.

I believe the points are on occupywallst.org. I'm still on the fence on the whole thing. Like I said, I see a lot of decent points being made about the Fed and banks, but I also see a lot of "I'm stuck, but I'm not going to work to better my life, I want the government to do it for me"

I'm interested on how it'll all play out...

They want it to mean that because 1% of the population is incredibly successful, it prevents the other 99% from lifting a finger to help themselves.

What it really means is that 10% of the population are youthful, naive, and easily fooled into being political pawns for socialism.

Moveon.org is behind it. It's no grass roots libertarian movement, it's a planned series of events set up by a leftist organization.

Thank you for that. That probably explains it better than any website I could check out.

This. The whole thing is backed by the typical liberal groups and unions. All staged to look spontaneous. The ambiguity of their goals is intentional so they can cast a big net and get as many supporters as possible.

There do seem to be some points where 99% and common conservatives might agree, but on most things they don't.

They've got just enough good points to get some well meaning conservatives on board. They have to, in order to make it appear that the 99% are not left leaning statists.

What they really want is for the 1% of weathiest Americans to pay for them to get art degrees and then make shitty art for the rest of thier lives. They don't want to work at Burger King..ever.

They have a problem with government's relationship with big business. Well no shit. That's about a vague enough statement that everyone on the planet agrees.

And you would be mistaken.I forwarded a website that YOU can research and come to your own conclusions. Move on .org is part of a network that is VERY ORGANIZED and with SEVERAL LEADERS that use the  10 pillars of Comunissm for POINTS.   the part in Gold tells me that you REALLY didn't want to know about the 99%,so what was the purpose of your thread? The man tells you he is on the fence, but yet you run with it.Shame on you.
