[ARCHIVED THREAD] - WTF SeaWorld.... (Page 1 of 2)

| Just had to give my right index fingerprint to get in... |
| The paranoia I read about fingerprints here reminds me of the stories about native americans fearing having their picture taken will steal their soul. There is fundamentally nothing different between a fingerprint and a photograph, except a fingerprint is more reliable as an ID. |

It wouldn't be any more acceptable to me if they were taking photographs instead of fingerprints, Dave. |

Quoted: im guessing so people dont come in with 1 family member leave the park with said family members ticket and give it to another person waiting outside? That would be my guess as well. I think Sea World and Busch Gardens are part of the same company. I went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA this year and they were doing this too. I don't know if they were hitting the regular general admission ticket holders, but they were to Season Pass and Funsaver ticket holders. Funsaver is a deal they do for VA residents where you pay full price general admission with no coupons and instead of a one day ticket, you get a pass that give you unlimited visits till Labor Day ( I think that was the cut off point). The main differences between Funsaver and a Season Pass is that the Season Pass includes the Halloween, Octoberfest, and Christmas stuff along with a discount on food, drinks, and several of the activities (including on old time photo stuff––my two year old looked so cute dressed as a mobster era flapper and toting a pistol). |

The Native Americans didn't really have anything to worry about either. Right? |

That is true; the native americans grabbed that land long before the invention of photography. |

Quoted: Just got back from a charter on Lake Erie. Couple of the guys were asked for their SSN's to get an Ohio fishing license. That's routine, Utah and Idaho have been doing that for years. Most Fish and Game Departments have an agreement with other states to share wildlife violation records so poachers can't hop to another state when they get banned in one state. |

I know Sea World and Disney use it here in Orlando. I'm not sure about Universal because I haven't been there in awhile. |
