Apparently it is still going on with Verizon.

Normally I have slow dsl service, but now, I am unable to log onto sites that have video or complicated graphics or animations.  It is worse than dial up.

Cannot log onto the speed test sites.

I pay for the premium service but rarely get even cheap service. They say that they cannot guarantee specific speed.

They can only assure me that they will attempt to provide an effort to start a ticket to investigate the quality of the transfer rate.... right after they run tests to find out if I am able to reboot.

But now during the  strike,  my dsl has become pretty much useless.   I suspect some sort of sabotage.

I talked to a Comcast rep who told me that I can get a stand alone internet connection without a TV package.  WHO FORGOT TO TELL ME ABOUT THAT???

So I ordered a modem and wireless router, through Amazon, and will soon have internet access again.

No FIOS in your area(not that you would be upgrading with the strike going on)?

I have not had any issues with my FIOS service during the strike, then again we don't put up with union bullshit in VA like ya''ll do up North. I still think Verzion should fire every last one of those fuckers, close every last union shop and start from scratch.

So how does that work? CWA workers go on strike and your DSL slows down?   Are CWA employees required to donate plasma daily to keep the Verizon engine running?   Are CWA workers required to change the vacuum tubes in the switch station daily to keep them greased up and pass the electrons faster?   Is Verizon sneaking in at night and tightening the main control valve that controls the electron flow?  Or are you having a flight of fantasy?

You do realize they have to maintain the network, right?  We make a lot of the equipment that runs VZ's network.  They usually order 10 to 20 pallets a week.  Since the strike started they have been getting 10 to 20 boxes a week and have sent in a fraction of their normal RMA volume............  No workers means no work getting done, no faulty equipment being replaced.  FUCK the CWA.  This crap is making my job more difficult...........
