perfect example of a runaway government. ![]() No. A perfect example of a people (a majority) getting the government that they want and the politicians simply obliging. Its not like 51% of the populace of California voted in representatives that campaigned on strong support of second amendment rights. The majority of California voters are liberals ( I should know, I lived there for 34 years, was raised by liberals, and myself voted for Clinton twice when I was a liberal teenager). The majority of California voters for the past 50 years have elected liberal politicians to state congress, city councils, mayor and governor's offices, etc. In turn those liberal elected officials appoint liberal government agency department heads who in turn hire liberal directors/managers/etc. to staff those agencies. >50% of the voters of California are simply getting the government and state that they want. |

If this bill is signed into law, I will no longer purchase goods and services from that state. Bye Bye 511 pants. So long purchasing Movies from studios in Hollywood. Etc etc etc.
I'm only one person, but it makes me feel better about not supporting a government (directly or indirectly thru taxes) that does not support our rights. |

This could actually be a good thing for CA.
So far, two idiot judges have tossed CCW lawsuits, claiming that since you can carry an unloaded gun, you don't "need" to CCW. If given a choice, which would you rather have... unloaded open carry, or concealed loaded carry? |

But that doesn't stop them from being judges and passing whatever opinions they like! Peruta v. San Diego The Judge found summary judgment for Sheriff Gore and Plaintiffs
lost the case on all points. In her written opinion the Judge wrote that UOC is okay for self defense and the Court does not need to decide whether the Second Amendment encompasses a right to carry a loaded handgun in public. Richards v. Prieto Under the statutory scheme, even if Plaintiffs are denied a concealed
weapon license for self-defense purposes from Yolo County, they are still more than free to keep an unloaded weapon nearby their person, load it, and use it for self-defense in circumstances that may occur in a public setting. Yolo County’s policy does not substantially burden Plaintiffs’ right to bear and keep arms. Therefore, rational basis review applies. |

I wish this news would have come on other than a gorgeous day here far from the Golden State.
This is a story for a freezing day in the middle of winter. Seeing this as a route to shall issue is seeing an utterly smashed glass half full. Not going to happen, IMO. But, if you've dealt with all the CA BS already I guess hope against trend is all one has. |
