[ARCHIVED THREAD] - A-10 Warthog: Attack Run (Page 1 of 2)

There is one statement that the good Captain made that I take issue with... "The only aircraft built to solely perform CAS" He should've said "the only other aircraft...." http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l328/Mach2_photos/su-25-08p02.jpg Both are wrong, since they were both designed for interdiction, not close air support. |

Quoted: Not to nit pick, but the reporter/narrator called it a "fighter". . . . uh, there's a reason it's an A-10, not an F-10. . . . He also said "thirty caliber rounds" Edit: Does anyone else love the sound of the GAU-8? The only gun with an airplane accessory? |

As I recall, their primary role was to plug the Fulda Gap with the burning hulks of Soviet armor. At least they got to fulfill their destiny, though in a different theater. |

Sweet. I have both. I played Lock On and got pretty good with the A-10, but the AI sucked balls so I got bored with it. This looks like an entirely different experience. |

You have the quality of the Flight Models of the Lockon serie (much improved) and the avionic at the level of the latest version of Falcon 4 (BMS).. I do believe that it is the best military flight sim of these days. It only lacks a more dynamic environment. |

I believe we had some up here in CT at one time in the Air National Guard.
One Memorial day in my small central CT town we were honored to have a fly by at the end of the parade. Not sure how low these two guys were but I swore at the time they were flying around church steeples and trees. Heard the noise, couple of seconds later they were there and then a couple of seconds later they were gone. They were so low my first impression was that something had gone wrong and they were coming down I kind of felt if I had been in an enemy tank those would have been my last seconds alive. Made a huge impression on me and I am not easily impressed |
