not to mention pauses and [failure] codes when trying to watch something |

Well, for that whopping $9 a month, they should everything that's ever been, instantly, in perfect quality. I agree. Damn them. Oh wait, I just got done watching Twilight Samurai and last night we watched Hunt for Red October, and earlier this week a Louis CK standup show, and a documentary about sub disasters, and the Jerk. Well, hell. |
|
I'd be happy with them if they'd just do one thing.
Once they put a movie up whee you can watch instantly, leave it there. They take them down after a short time and when I want to see something again or find something when it's about to expire, I want to drop it and find another provider. |

My billing cycle is on the 15th of the month, already decided it will be terminated on the 14th of this month.
Netflix sucks !!! If I turn it off now I lose 2 weeks that are already paid for. If I think of a movie I want to see, even if it's old it's never on streaming. I have had Netflix since last Christmas and that was long enough . |
|
Netflix is still primarily a DVD by mail service. The infrastructure and operating costs of streaming everything is outrageous, and isn't feasible in the forseeable future.
For what is costs, Netflix is still a great serviced, imo. I'm sure they could stream everything, if people wanted to pay $100 a month for Netflix, just like they do with cable/satellite. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Netflix only seems to have older movies. My kids love what Netflix has for them though (power rangers, thomas the train, etc.) We cancelled cable about a month ago and I was worried about losing cartoon network for the kids. However, netflix seems to have an unlimited supply of cartoon shows so the kids can now watch whatever they want. If I have to watch one more episode of "danny phantom" I'm going to shoot myself in the face. |

Quoted: not to mention pauses and [failure] codes when trying to watch something I did a free trial a couple months ago... Hard for me to believe, but I couldn't find a damn thing I wanted to watch. (or haven't already seen) Coincidentally, my 30 days was up when they announced the rate hike, so I got to join with the masses of the angry in cancelling. You've got to offer me something a hell of a lot better than that in order to get me to $ubscribe. |

I have Netflix online only, for now. I have had it on and off since they started offering the streaming content. Right now I am just as impressed with Amazon Prime and the free content I get. Sure I pay $75 a year for Prime, so it isn't free, and sure it doesn't have the selection that Netflix does, but I also have cable, with every single channel available, so I am getting a better selection of "On Demand" content from that anyway.
If you have Amazon Prime already and aren't aware, that subscription includes free access to a lot of movies and TV programs at no extra cost. The selection is rapidly improving. I have three kids, so Prime is a no brainer for me. $4 overnight shipping and free second day shipping on most items. Last year we ordered three Diamondback BMX bikes, overnight shippping was $12. I ordered them Monday morning, they were at the house Tuesday at noon. That was worth the $75 by itself. |

I like how they're upping the price 60% and dropping starz content. How much was it before they added streaming? I'm not sure, when I got it a few months ago it was 10 bucks for Streaming and one DVD, now it'll be 16 bucks for the exact same thing, only with less content. Time to cancel |

Our ISP (Suddenlink) liked to throttle our bandwidth if we watched more than 1-2 movies a week, even though they swore up and down they dont do such things.
And they're the only game in town for high speed internet. Thus, our Netflix ultimately had to go. I did like it while I had it though. |
|
Half the stuff I had in my queue is now unavailable. Streaming might make more sense for me if I cared about television shows, but the last TV series I could sit through was the Sopranos.
I'll stick with DVD only. I haven't canceled streaming yet, but after I watch the 6 or 7 programs on it, it's gone. |

The choices for streaming movies are pretty limited if you are interested in seeing recent, popular movies. True. Most anything recent that appears on streaming isn't all that good. That's where the DVD's come in, for the most part. I keep streaming due to the massive library of TV shows, documentaries, and older movies that I don't own, but watch from time to time. It's nice to have instant access to those things. |

It looks better than when it was originally made.

So Mondays are "Bash Netflix" day now?
Didn't we just do this (and do this and do this)? I'm pretty happy with Netflix, all-in-all. Even with the price increase. TV shows and foreign movies have our queues filled. The wife and I trade off DVDs and we've got 140 something queued up right now. We've got 80 or so Streaming programs in our queue there. We can get through two DVDs in a week's time... I drop one in the mail on Monday, they receive and ship on Tuesday, we get the new one on Wednesday, watch it that night, drop it Thursday and have another one on Saturday. If you don't like it because it's model doesn't fit your needs, great, drop it and move on. Qwitcherwhining fer heaven's sake, though, willya? |
got rid of it
