Is it me or every time there is a White male Star Fleet officer who is a Captain or Admiral and isn't a member of the Enterprise crew he turns out to be doing something horrible or planning on doing something horrible?

Maybe I'm wrong, but can anyone think of an episode where a female Captain or Admiral was up to no good?  I'm sure there has to be one I just can't remember.

Well, IIRC in the the episode Pegasus, where they find Will Rikers old starship embedded in an asteroid because it had an experimental phased cloak installed that malfunctioned, the person behind it was a starfleet female admiral. Head of starfleet security I think.

Was the female admiral the head of Star Fleet Intelligence or was she just the next up in Picard's chain of command passing on orders from Star Fleet Command?

Ep. Drumhead featured a female starfleet antagonist. i dont remember what exactly she was (not a captain or admiral) but in either case she led some crazy witch hunt for non-existent traitors on the Enterprise until Picard gave her a verbal bitch slap and she went home and stuffed a hyper spanner in her hatchetwound.

There was also a female starfleet officer who ended up being a disguised Romulan spy.

lots of female antagonists outside of starfleet too. Of all the weird starfleet conspiracies, though, i don't recall any of them being perpetrated  by a space-minority.

no, infact the only reason i remembered it is i recall the scene in Drumhead when Picard is on the hot seat getting by that bitch, and she asks him about the incident before she gets told.

iirc it was some kind of weird rendezvous mission and bam, Romulan ships decloak and this bitch transports to one of the Romulan ships with a head full of Starfleet secrets. Now that i think about it it might not have an a SF officer, maybe just crew, or something else. but Female, and "official" or some kind.

I've discussed this similar subject in the basement with my mother  OK well maybe not the basement,  anyway I'm only 35 episodes in and cannot stand how they constantly speak as if they are superior than humans from merely hundreds of years before only to show every human characteristic of pride, selfish ambition, the full gambit of human emotions and flaws, yet don't seem to recognaize it.  Kind of ironic,  a buddy on fb told me they address this in the series finale that humans really don't change... I don't think liberals understand irony though.

Star trek Is their wet dream, frankly such a society would seem fat, lazy and lethargic.  Between teleporters,  holodecks, the replicator ,  AI etc etc I don't see them being anything but lazy spoiled philosophers, he'll theyd probably just be killed off by their AI ala Skynet.

Exactly, the minute a Star Fleet officer who is a Captain or higher in rank steps aboard the Enterprise there is no question that he will do something bad.

It's like "oh no, it's a White Guy Admiral he's going ot screw them."

Picard could save everyone a lot of hassle and order that any white guy above the rank of Commander be taken into custody by security the minute they transport onto the ship.

I don't know about that, but I was watching TNG the other day. It was the episode "I, Borg". They had the chance (or so they thought anyway) to destroy the Borg by implanting that unsolvable puzzle with Hugh and sending him back. But then Hugh started to gain a little personality and they decided that wasn't the proper thing to do. It would be better to send him back so the Borg could continue to destroy entire civilizations.

That was retarded.

Since this is a Star Trek thread i just wanna say if anyone gets the chance watch the movie "The Captains a film by William Shatner"
I just saw it yesterday. If you are a Trekkie, its REALLY REALLY good. I think Shatner has fully embraced his legacy as Kirk. Before this I think he avoided it becuase of the type casting crap. You get to see all the captains of the show have an interview the shatner. It shows him walking around a trek convention surprising fans by coming up right behind them and asking questions, its pretty funny. Plus he interviews the black guy from ds9 Avery Brooks, that guy really is from outer space.
He's like  colonel Kurtz except instead of military stuff its jazz music.

I see no parallels between Sisko and Obama.  I do tend to be some what color blind however.

Sisko was competent.  Obama is not.

The Federation was in the process of disintegration, many capable people joining the Macquis. Riker evem wished them well.  Possibly reflecting the fall of the Roman Empire, and possibly reflecting our current situation today.

Never confuse a competent man with black skin with an incompetent man with black skin.  Incompetence is incompetence, no matter what one's skin color is.  For proof, look at Jimmy Carter.
