Firefox was a nice change when it first came out. But it has been a serious memory hog and lately since the FF6 update, I get random moments of the browser not responding for a few seconds....(10 to 15 seconds) and just got tired of it. So far I am really liking Chrome and don't know why I didn't make the switch sooner.

Quoted: I tried switching, but Chrome failed to import anything from Firefox. If my favorites, history, etc. could be easily transferred, I'd consider it. We use Google Docs for Business at work and Chrome would be nice sometimes. Weird...I imported everything and worked for me. I tried Opera back in the day and just couldn't get used to it.

This past April I switched to Chrome for I think two weeks. At first I liked it better than FF. I don't remember what it was now, but it completely failed at something simple on a website I frequent. I had to use Firefox every time I wanted to do...whatever that was. The next FF update sped it up a bit for me, so I just went back to using FF full time.
ETA: I just did a search of my Gmail account thinking I may have told a friend about it. Didn't find what I'm thinking of, but I did find a reference to another problem. I was apparently creating links to webpages in an Excel spreadsheet. When Chrome was my default browser, it wouldn't correctly load the links. When I clicked a link, Chrome would try to open it with a bunch of added nonsense in the URL. Then I'd have to manually deleted the extra stuff that was added to the URL. There was something else though even simpler that it wasn't doing right. Still can't remember that one. |

I agree FF slows down after you open and close a billion tabs but it only takes a few seconds to restart it and then it's fast as always. |

Found another complaint I had. When I had a pop-up box used for inputting text or something open in a tab or window, with FF I can keep that open and switch to a different tab or window. Chrome didn't allow me to do that.
For example, try to reply to this post with Chrome. Click the hyperlink icon, which opens an input text box. Now imagine you want to go to a different tab so you can copy the link or check something else. You can't. (Unless they've fixed that with an update.) |

Quoted: I do not trust Google or anything remotely associated with it. And I have an immediate relative who is employed fairly high up the ladder there, so you might say that I have strong feelings to say that. Ditto for Facebook. Meh I'm on fbook and I have a Droid X (google everywhere). |

While I don't relish the idea of companies collecting loads of my data, I enjoy the convenience offered by integrated systems. |
