There are some great Chefs on AR15.com, and I am not one of them.

But I do enjoy “Simple” recipes that are quick, easy, and tasty.

Here’s one my Mom taught me to make.

You start out with a broiler pan and spray some Pam on the bottom.  Then you put a can of sweet corn and a can of green beans in the bottom of the pan.  Be sure to pour off some of the water from the vegetables to keep them from being too soaked.

I then put some salt and pepper or some Tony’s on them, and a little butter or margarine.

Then I take the pork chops and put some Pork Rub on them and some Tony’s.  Do both sides. (If you don't like your food too highly seasoned, adjust accordingly.)

Spray Pam in the top of the broiler pan and place the pork chops on top.

It’s ready to go in the oven.  Set the oven to “Broil” and watch to see when it is ready.  I watch the pork chops to see when they are brown, and then turn them over once to brown both sides of the chops.

The “drippings” from the pork chops fall down on the vegetables and season them up just right.

Looks like they are about ready.

And here it is, ready to eat.

Some French bread, some Sweet Tea, a home-made knife, and a Model 25 S&W, .45 LC.

It doesn’t get much better than this.

On the non arfcom scale since it's missing most of the requirements for a dinner pic 10/10.  Simple, easy and very creative use of the drippings.

You've gotta write a book on these "quick and easy" recipes, O_P.

I notice the one common ingredient is Tony Chachere's.

I've actually thought about starting a thread in the Cooking forum titled (something like) "O_P's simple and tasty recipes".

Of course, prior to creating the thread I would have sought O_Ps' permission, as well as confirmed his willingness to participate ... but instead, I'll just throw it out there - right here, right now.

So what the heck, how about it O_P ?

Would you be willing to have a thread in the cooking forum that lists all of your recipes, and include some photo tutorials as well ?

Well, I wouldn't be against it.  But I would have to dig up the photos of the earlier ones, as I do not have them handy.

In all honesty, I don't consider these recipes to be worthy of such a post.  They are just easy and good to eat.

The real Chefs on the forum are the ones that really know how to cook.  And they probably post in the Cooking Forum.

Au contraire, good sir ...

Yes, you're right about there being some very good cooks who can whip up some pretty fancy-schmancy stuff; however, in no way does that mean that there's not a place for your creations here.

Make no mistake - simple, quick and tasty dishes are a home-run no matter how you slice it.  Especially when trying to quickly feed a family that's hungry and sometimes picky.

Anyway, I'll leave it up to you.  But I can pretty much assure you that a thread like that would be appreciated by many, and very well received.

It is "Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning" and it is the bread of life in the South.

It makes just about everything in the world taste better, except maybe pancakes.

Have you substituted potatoes for one of the veggies before, for a one pan meal?

Is the Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning available all over or just in the South? I love trying new seasonings.

I have made mashed potatoes to go with this meal, but have not tried them in the pan.  I bet they would be just fine as part of the meal.

It is very popular in the South.  Maybe you could get some on the Internet?  It is a great addition to any meal.
