I liked how they put Chris Sarandon (Jerry Dandrige) in the new version as well.

Agreed, it was excellent. I went there prepared to be underwhelmed. What a pleasant surprise.
And yes, the cameo by the original 80s vampire (Sarandon) was a cool touch.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the movie but I'm no a fan of 3D; you lose the wide screen and the movie is shot more like a television movie than a feature film.
But the movie was really enjoyable and the cast was great; a remake worth seeing.
