I'm helping a friend get a computer set up and wanted to know which DVD decoder to use/download. She's running Open Office. I'm not a techie so please be gentle. Any ideas? Is there any reason this won't work?
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-media-player/plug-ins Thanks very much. Bummer |

What are you wanting to do? Are you wanting to watch DVD's? A DVD encoder and Open Office are applications that havee absolutely nothing to do with each other; Furthermore, they do not have the ability or functionality to interact in any way whatsoever that i can think of. |

Thought I would add... If you are wanting to watch DVD's then download this software. It is free and has the Mpeg2 codec that you need to watch DVD's http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ |

Hi, Want to be able to watch DVDs. The reason I mentioned Open Office is because that's what she's got on her computer...not sure if it matters. Bummer |

I have no idea what you are talking about but my answer is VLC. Have to agree with this. Your original question is talking about two things that have nothing to do with each other. That being said if it concerns a media file on the computer, the answer is VLC. If VLC will not open it or play it, you don't need it. |

Bummer She also has notepad, free cell, and solitaire on her computer but for some reason you did not mention these. See where I'm going with this? |
