The story says he was coming to the end of the runway and was headed for the turn about 70mph. Mabye the pilot was thinking Indy car?

So just for interest sake what are some of you pilots educated guesses on how and why this happened ?

brake overheating or failure could be a reason for doing this

I think the other thread stated it was faulty brakes and not the pilot's fault.

Wheels down too far down the runway, plus too heavy and too fast.

I think the cause of this was piss poor use of the search function. Oh! You mean the cause of the crash!

bullf16 and a couple other Viper pilots were picking apart his fuckup.

Rejected take off? OSH's longest is 18/36 at about 8k. That would cause brake failure on a rejected take off.
