some fords have a sticker under the dash on a black box, in the footwell

eta.... the black box may not be black, could be cream

and im sure you looked but just in case... the code is printed on cards with the manual, if it still has it in there

Assuming a 4 digit code, you only have about XXXXXX combos to try.  Get crackin skippy!

Owners manual?  Pamphlet in glove box?  Maybe a default code that you have to set?  Try 0000, 1234, etc.

Check the owner's manual cover.
I found the plastic card for my GF's car in there, it lists the factory default code which IIRC will always unlock the car even if a custom code has been entered.

This^ It's about the size of a CD case and will have a five digit code accompanied by a barcode.

Check the trunk hinge for the sticker. Also check the ECM for a sticker.

The combo is 0-0-0-0

Change it to 1911

Hold down the "AM FM" button on the radio, while cycling the key on-off-on-off.  Do not start the engine.

Radio should display a series of - - - then start flashing the code sequence.

I had an 00 excursion. Went to all the forum boards and disassembled half the damn vehicle looking for the sticker.
Finally took it to the ford dealer and a service writer there plugged the computer in and gave me the code in 3 minutes, no charge.

Sounds like my Tacoma. Turn key to ACC, open/close door three times, pat head, whistle "Dixie", fart the National Anthem, turn key ON then back to ACC, open/close door, remove key.

Yeah this sequence only works if the vehicle has never had the battery disconnected.

Makes it tough on folks buying them second hand.

How would it feel to get all the way to the bottom, to have your code be 99999?

Slightly better than starting at the bottom thinking "there is no way it is 11111" and finding out it is!
