American Revolution, Round II.  Score:

Americans:  2
England: 0

However, if you consider we invaded Canada twice and got kicked out twice, the score is:

Americans:  0
Canada/England:  2.

I guess we're even then?

Democrats were a different breed than the demoncrats of today.  Jackson also abolished the Bank of the United States, for which we should be grateful (until that traitorous Woodrow Wilson not only allowed the Federal Reserve to be created but also the Sixteenth Amendment that authorized income tax).  My gripe against Jackson is the Trail of Tears.  A lot of Indians died on that American version of the Death March.

I recall a pretty good movie on the battle.  Wonder if it was the Buccaneer with Yul Brynner.

Charlton Heston was Jackson.
the battle was fought a couple of days after the governments had ended the war.

Well . . . !

I hadn't seen that thread, and I thought the song was long lost to obscurity.  I was biding my time to post when I thought it was appropriate to the season.

However, I was thinking of Johnny Horton's original 45 RPM single of '59.  I never knew the lego version existed until today.

I love Johnny Horton's voice, the rasp without the "growling out the words", a pretty wide range on the high end as well.

Awesome tune!

There was a bar/pub in Augusta Bay, Sicily where the only two songs in English were Snoopy vs. the Ted Baron and "Shaddap You Face." We played the hell out of those records, and yes they were vinyl records.

I love the Battle of Nawlins. Great tune.
