I sent a buddy my M&P slide, with some Ameriglo sights for an installation. We are gonna shoot for the 4th, and he said he would have it ready. He calls and says the package, which turns out to be nothing more than a padded envelope, has a hole in it and the only thing that made it is the Ameriglo night sights. The slide, it seems, punched its way through the envelope and is probably sitting in the floor of some truck who knows where. From me to him is only a two hr trip, so the route should be easy to trace. Is it possible that some delivery driver would have found it, and set it aside? Then on monday morning when I get UPS to put the word out about a missing pistol slide, it could be returned to me safely? Atleast, thats how Im hoping it goes. Anyone experience something similar?
And, yes, I know I should have stayed to see what they were packing it in, so spare me. Thanks for any insights |

Did you have it insured???
I bought a set of rotors for a Harley and an empty envelop arrived... It took awhile but they made it right. They went off the weight of the package when shipped against the weight of the rotors.. I got a refund finally. Hopefully yours was lost in the truck and ups dude has it. |

I opted for no additional insurance. Like I said we are so close that it arrived the next day. I never thought it would be an issue, but I guess no one ever does. Im crushed. |

So the UPS store people packaged it for you? You're basically SOL without insurance unless you want to try to take the store to small claims court and claim they should have known to package it better. I don't really see it working out well for you either way. Yes, I have used them so many times I didnt think anything of it. I gave it to him, he weighed it all, I paid and left. Unwise, I know. I guess I will just cling to the hope that some driver has it, and they will be able to put the word out and find it. |
