I am a white male.
I am not racist nor do I feel I am better than anyone else due to race. Another thread got me wondering who here is still against mixed race relationships. I am also curious who has children who are with someone of a different race and what you feel about it. I know many couples of different races and some of them have had families who could not handle it. Gain a husband lose a father in a couple cases. I would honestly prefer that when my daughter gets married that it is to a white man. I am white and I would like white grandchildren, it is just what I am use to. I do not consider myself racist because I prefer this. If the time comes that my daughter falls in love with someone other than a white man I would certainly not disown her. So what do you think? + Please keep harsh comments to yourself because I am interested it peoples openion and don't want the post shut down. |

I have an adopted son who is mixed race. Our family has treated him like he was our blood and to me he is. We also have a foster child that is mixed race and she has been accepted as well. My wife and I are both white and all of our family is white, doesn't make a bit of difference to me. I only judge the individual. If my child grows up and wants to date another race it wouldn't make any difference to me, all that matters is the person's character. |

FWIW, I honestly don't care so much about "race" as I do "culture". If one of My G'girls fell in love and married a black guy that was as conservative as I am it would be an absolute non-issue. Seriously. A good dude is a good dude regardless of color. I'd just want them to treat my girls like the wonders that they are and be able to have a conversation with them that didn't involve seeing ME (A 40 something white male) as the focus of all "evil" in the world. I've got a buddy in my unit who's AA and is as "Redneck" as Larry the cable guy, you forget that he's "black" about 10 seconds into any conversation with him. He's married to a white gal and has kids and is just the best guy. He got hurt pretty bad last year in Afghanistan (His RG hit a 160-200lb "jug") and I had to inventory and pack all his crap up when he was evacuated home. He could marry My 1st grand daughter (If he wasn't already married) and I'd think she got the better end of the deal....

I'm just going to cross-post this from the other thread. I think that it is slightly relevant. I have no issue with Asians- Blacks- Whites- etc who prefer to marry within their own race. I think that it's fucked up multiculturalist bullshit when people call those who openly PREFER intraracial (within a race) marriage "racist". I don't believe that it is evidence of enlightenment (AKA "Not Racism") when men marry out of their own race. In some cases I believe that it is a self-affirming act of retaliation in response to racism, actual or perceived. Historically, men of certain races commonly took wives from the nations that they slaughtered and conquered. Didn't mean they did it to prove what nice guys they were. In some cases, it's an intentional slap in the face. In other cases, not so much. It's the new, "In" thing. It gets attention, whatever the case- which is what some chicks care about. I've even been told by various people that if you're white, it's racist to NOT marry out of your race.  Look at what "mestizaje" did to the Taino people: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taino . But hell, some of the supremacist muticulturism advocates on here would say that you're a cross-bearing KKK member if you say any of this shit. If it were discovered that the numbers of this particular cat's polymorphic color variation were dwindling...and yet another Tiger morph was flourishing- would you care at ALL if this particular, unique color phase of Panthera tigris went extinct? Would you like to see it disappear? Or do you believe that it has a "right" to exist on it's own- as a separate, beautiful and unique breed? Would you like to sacrifice it's few remaining numbers in a reproduction program with other, numerous color variants and finally see it disappear as a "kind"? If you wanted to help THIS particular dwindling color morph of Panthera tigris to flourish...while ignoring (but NOT HATING) all of the other, more common varieties- would you be a "racist"?  |

I'm a mutt (half Japanese/half white). Raised American. Experienced my share of racism growing up, from Whites, Blacks, and Japanese. Wife is white. We just had our first baby (son) on June 7th. He will be raised as an American too. That being said, I have been with Asian, White, Hispanic, and Black women in my lifetime. It's all pink in the middle.  |

If I had a daughter, I'd prefer for her to marry an engineer, lawyer, doctor, soldier, etc. Really, no that important so long as the guy treats her right. Race doesn't factor into that. Besides, in my experience, blond haired, blue eyed people tend to be a pain in the ass. No need to make more of them. |

| I don't give a shit what other people do until it picks my pocket but I personally wouldn't consider any woman other than my own race for marriage and my daughter is being raised the same way. I'm completely against diluting my heritage in the name of diversity and multiculturalism so it won't be in my family. What you do with yours is your business. |

Your heritage isn't changed by who you marry, and your kids are only getting half your heritage regardless of the race of their mother. |

Anyone else think mixed race women tend to be cuter?
I have read conflicting reports about mixed race relationships in this country. One said that mixed race couples are decreasing as minorities increase because people can find more people of their own race. Then I heard the opposite, as neighborhoods, schools and workplaces become less segregated, more interracial dating is occuring. Possible explanation, teens and the yound experiment with other races while dating, but to get married and raise a family, often go back to their own race. I dated women from diverse cultures but married a woman from the same race as me. |

Culture is far more important than race. People confuse the two at their peril. They are not inseparable.
I have black friends who are just regular dudes who go to work every day and pay their bills. I know white people who are ghetto mentality thugs. Guess who I'd rather invite into my family? |

My son will never be held by his aunt. The POS drunk was also released from prison, after only serving 2 years of a 15 year armed robbery sentence. A judge released him early, since his rights were being violated over prison overcrowding. |

If people keep breeding amongst themselves then what used to be a planet if black, brown, red, yellow, and white will all be some shade of tan. If that is your or anyone else's thing, go for it because it is a free country. To me, we are/were different for a reason and it should stay that way. Two of my oldest friends are in mixed relationships, one is a white guy with a black wife and the other is a black guy who to my knowledge in the 14 years I've been friends with him has never dated anything other than white women. That is their business and they are free to do so but it is absolutely not for me which is my business. That Is the beauty if freedom. |
