I just watched this movie on HBO called Taking Chance.  Great movie for memorial day.  I don't know how I missed it the first time around as it was released in 2009.  So this could be a dupe but definitely dupe-worthy.

Here's the trailer:  http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi113247001/

Here's the original essay that the movie is based off of in case you don't subscribe to HBO: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/05/02/INGBS6CGK61.DTL

I'm actually watching it right now before I go to sleep since I'm working tonight.

Bacon did an incredible job with it.

For some reason, whenever I watch that movie dust starts blowing around the room...

I like when the old Gunny at the VFW gives the LtCol a reality check.

One of the best scenes in any movie.

If I was POTUS for a day, I would make that mandatory viewing in schools the first school day back after Memorial Day.

I'd never heard of it before now.  'looks like it'll remind me of the ramp ceremonies we did over there (At the START of the
process)....

Excellent, excellent movie.

Started a thread on it last year after I saw it for the first time.

Glad to see it making the rounds again.

That movie is known to cause pet allergies.

ETA: Especially the first few minutes, showing the process of preparing the remains, his uniform, etc.
