What are the essential iPhone apps.  For example, is there a calendar app that is similar to the old Palm software?  The one that comes on the phone is pretty pathetic.

Try photosynth. It does a pretty good job of stitching photos together for a 360 deg. panorama. And it's free!

How about a calendar app that isn't as miserable as the standard one?  There are hundreds, and I can't seem to find one that gets good reviews.

Anything to help with productivity?  I'm not into video games, but thanks for the recommendations.

Dijit......It's an app for Griffin's Beacon TV/AV remote http://www.griffintechnology.com/beacon (whenever that comes out).
It'll let you use your iphone as remote for all your cool toys. For now it gives you all the local TV listings(including OTA) in your area, and, it will link to your Netflix account! And it's FREE!
