I bought 3 Pmags recently, and I notice one of the three doesn't have numbers on the side stating how many rounds are left, it has the orange indicator in the window, just no numbers on the outside of the mag.

Did they change this at some point, or did I get a fluke?

It could be a pre mrev, what it the date manufactured?

It is the one in the middle.

I just noticed another difference, the one in the middle has the block of text near the top running vertical, it is horizontal on the other two.

They must be from two different batch runs at the factory.

Tag to see if it's a fake.

Also has 5 lines on it, instead of the 4 the others have.

Also, look at the rib on the right hand side of the middle one, it goes all the way to the top of the mag.

They all work fine, I doubt it is a fake.

The one in the middle is an older version. The two on the sides are the new Rev M models.

They made a lot of changes, the window is shorter on the middle one, more horizontal ribs too.

Yeah, I believe they changed the ribs to make them fit in mag pouches better. They also removed the tabs on the back and the rib running up the front side of the mag to make them more compatible with magwells on the tighter side.

I wish I had known this when I bought them.

Why couldn't Magpul call the news ones 'Pmag II' or something to differentiate them?

While it's always nice to get the latest rev of a design, I've used the old ones with no issues.  It will probably run fine for the life of your AR's.

They all do work fine, now I know Pmags vary, I will look them over more carefully if I buy some more.

Do the covers clip on the bottom of all of them?

The MREV version has been out for a long time. I have not seen any from retailers for a long long while. I would say anything you buy firm a retailer would be the new version. But it never hurts to ask

The cover will only clip on the bottom of the mrev versions with the large windows
