What is your opinion of this movie?

I thought it was good, but it took watching it a couple times for it to grow on me.

I thought it was excellent and have borrowed it from the library several times, though one really has to know about the show quite a bit for it to really make a lot of sense.  I had seen all ten seasons before I saw the movie.  I liked it a lot more than The Ark of Truth.

I loved it to death the first time.

One thing that really got me, is that usually when bad stuff happens to the characters in Stargate you know they will find a way out of it.  So after awhile it's like "oh gee MacGyver got some disease or something.  Look at that."  And then 44 minutes later he's cured, and you know this is going to happen.

When Jackson loses his leg, and they show him limp off with his pant leg rolled up it was just the saddest goddamn thing.  You know he's not getting that leg back with some sort of magic or DEM.  No way, no how.  Really got to me.

Also the long edited part where they show all the cut scenes of them getting interviewed and stuff and being highly pissed off and frustrated was fantastic cinema.  Really showed the desolation in a way you could feel.  A very well put together movie across the board, good writing, good directing, good acting.  A highlight for the series.

Liked it a lot more than Ark of Truth as well.  It certainly helped understanding the finer points having seen the whole series.

I thought it was interesting when Mitchell makes the comment about the old photo in his locker back at SGC showing a relative as the Captain of the Achilles, then at the end after things are "fixed" his locker door swings open and there's the pic - but with him in it as well.  Glitch in the Grandfather Paradox?

Well, Carter even told him "Wow, you're literally a Grandfather paradox". In Sci-Fi, if you admit it then all is forgiven.

Time travel in Sci-Fi almost ALWAYS pisses me off.  I wish they wouldn't do it.  There are a few times when I've really liked what the did with a time travel scenario and this is one that I was very pleased with.

"That's what Dr. Lee said."

Think it would have been better had the photo been of Mitchell as the Captain of the Achilles.  Timeline restored - kinda sorta - because he met his ancestor and it was him.

I think it was done better than most.

But they really could have played with the paradox.  If Mitchell goes back, he might change the timeline.  Once there, they find that Mitchell had to come back as he was his own ancestor and if he didn't then he and his timeline never existed.  Which begs the question - when did it all start?  And how many times had it happened?

pretty good.  Liked The Ark of Truth better, though.

Man I need to watch this again, I barely remember it. I guess that means it was less than memorable. It was kind of just a long episode, but a good one.

I always forget the new guy's name, O'neils replacement on SG1, but I always thought he did a good job as an actor, and the role was written well. He was sort of the reluctant but competent replacement. If not for that, the last few episodes would have been unbearable, and would have brought down the rest of the series. Instead, he/they did a good job, and that's what made this movie possible.

Mitchell family secret: grandma was into 3-ways.

You can't say he never thought about it in the new timeline why he looked like both of them so much.

What kinda Arfcommer would you be if you didn't enjoy a story about the Stargate being involved in a tragic boating accident?
