I received the following in an e-mail from the TBI TICS/NICS director today. I apologize that these bills are not hot links, this is how they came to me. I trust this to be valid information.
GUN LEGISLATION PENDING IN THE U.S. CONGRESS (introduced in 2011) There were at least 25 pieces of legislation having some potential impact on firearm sales, gun control, background checks, etc., introduced in Congress this year. Some of the major bills introduced are listed below with some information related to them. No summaries provided ETA: It seems (you are correct) none of these have made it out of committee yet. I would be very surprised if any of them came up for a vote, even in the Senate. The Congress is moderately pro-gun right now. Harry Reid is pretty crappy in many ways, but he does not generally allow anti-2A bills to come up for votes at all, and all heck would break loose in the House if John Boehner tried to schedule a vote. |
