I just reinstalled GTA4 and the graphics are choppy and barely work. I have a new system I built, previously it had worked fine. I have Win 7 64 bit, Intel Core i7 950 processor, 6 GB ddr3 RAM, and a Geforce GTS 450 video card with 1GB DDR5 RAM.
I have never had a problem before with it till the upgraded system. Any ideas, please? Thanks. |

Latest nvidia driver for your card?

Download the lastest nVidia drivers, then the latest directX
Go to device manager, look at the properties of the IDE Controllers, make sure they are running in DMA mode on the "advanced properties" instead of PIO mode. That is a wierd glitch that will KILL the performance of a system, happens after upgrades without a clean install sometimes. Other than those two things (Video drivers/directX, and HDD), not sure what would cause such a hit on performance. |
