Does anyone know if these recievers are good to go?  I am thinking of building a plinker out of one, but want to know if they are reliable as being in spec over all fit and finish?  what does the hive mind think

they had a section in the industry forum for some years, but recently let the membership lapse

they were one of the few dealers to NOT raise prices during the '08 panic buying

ETA: IIRC were able to keep up with demand pretty well too

GTG.

Better made than Bushmaster and DPMS. No excess metal or none smootness behind the grip or on the front of the magwell like my DPMS and Bushmasters have. Really a great product.

I have run the crap out of mine.  I can't remember the last time I cleaned it.  Still works.  GTG.

I have one of their old school, pre ban lowers, in my .22 build, and run the crap out of it.  Very good to go.

I have 3........or 4 I cant remember

I built my SBR on one of them so I trust it will be with me for quite a while.

I built my first AR on an EA lower.  I am about to order 2 matched upper/lower sets from them.  The finish on my first one was flawless and the fit on sereral uppers has been perfect.

This is now an EA build pic thread.

EA stripped upper and lower.

I did a couple of builds with them, good stuff.

Fixed it for you.

EA, Good To Go.
Even the old cast receivers were good.

I have an old pre ban cast lower, built with a colt sp1 upper. Great lower!

I've got a green upper/lower set I built into a 16" carbine for my oldest son, and a black one I built into an SBR for me.

My  EA lower has an extra hole in it, and has seen tens of thousands of rounds.

Ive owned around 6 others, and all have been GTG

ETA:

Does anyone know where I can get the lineart for the original EA logo?  Always thought it was neat.  I can only find the picture of the catalog.

Would make a cool large decal for the back window of my Jeep

i think ill get the matching a2 set, i want a no frills ar for carring around the bush to shoot stuff with.  next thing ill be looking for is a decent but cheep 16 in pencil barrel, i want to keep it as light as possible any ideas?  cuz i am kinda getting sick of the whole m4 profile thing since i have like 4 of them

Here are some of my EA builds. I've also got a 5.7 pistol build, but its in the shop getting some work done.

mega on left

Neither would seat a mag right, holes out of spec too, etc...

My KISS carbine (and my one and only AR) is an old cast (Sub 2000 serial number) with a Model 1 upper.  The fit is so tight, I have to drive the take down pins with a punch.  I have nothing but good to say about Essential Arms.

Yep, I have lots of kin in Krotz Springs, that's where my mom was from.  Several of my cousins know Vaughn very well.  If I remember correctly, he's been doing this since 83 or so.

Met him once, seemed like a decent guy.

MY EA .22 build.  Old school lower and newer upper.

I've got two that have been trouble free builds. Finish and fit as good or better than my Colt 6920 and Stag lowers.

Early Bushmasters were built on EA lowers.

Also, they made cast lowers until a few years ago, and I have never, ever heard of a problem with EA's cast lowers.

No problems w/ my 2.
