| Wife found my cache of preban built ar 15s and my sig 556 and my handguns. Says get rid of them or leaving and taking my 2 young boys. Ages 1 and 3. I need advice But please spare the get rid of the bitch comments. I have many other guns. Maybe the black rifles scared her? She calls them machine guns. I don't know what to do. I want my family and my guns. I planned on handing all of this stuff over to my kids when they turned 18. |

Give them to a friend to hold. Get a .22 semi auto. Let her shoot it. Say nothing.
Take her to shoot it again, then explain to her that the .22 she fired functions exactly the same as the AR that she thinks is a machine gun. Given the argument that will follow, offer to get one of the rifles from the friend and let her shoot it. Tell her what an M16 is worth and offer to sell it and take her to her favorite Prada outlet with the money if she can make it go full auto - what the hell, it would be twenty thousand bucks, right? Set her up gently so she doesn't look too ignorant when you pull up the ATF regs and let her read them on the computer. It's a rough fall for some people when they find out how wrong they are. |

She has her own rifle. A marlin lever 44 mag. Her uncle owns, builds, sells guns in connecticut. He builds full auto for the police and machines parts for winchester.
Basically by me selling and giving in would mean my family means more than guns. Obviously nobody or anything comes before my kids. Im really torn. |

So let me make sure that i have this correct.
She found guns that you had, that you presumably purchased without her knowledge, and is giving you the ultimatum of getting rid of the guns, or she walks with the kids solely based on the fact that you stated that you deceived her. Well, if you haven't already, you are about to see how ruthless this place can be. |
| Get a cheap storage unit insure the shit outta them I had to do the same thing one time paid them every month in cash specified no bills to my house. Storage unit was $10 a month I would stop by after work and finger bang them every now and then and it was on the way to the range so I would just stop in and grab what I needed. After a year I brought the guns back home she never knew. |

She bought me a safe for xmas a few years ago. They are always in the safe. With exception of my daily carry gun.
We are in therapy and last nights session was the doc and wife vs me. The my wife painted a pretty picture for the doc and now the doc says I should remove guns from home. Which id gladly do. I may just "give" them all to my dad. I have OCD bad. I cannot control when it comes to.hunting/fishing/ my guns, gun accessories, ammo etc.... |

When I bought my bmg she said wow what a gun how much was that I replied $350 she said neat. Later I thought about it and realized if I died in a car wreck someone would get 20k worth of guns for about 1k. So it has its goods and bads. |

Your wife and doc vs. you is not right. There has to be some middle ground. The doc is not being a mediator, he is taking a side which is unfair in that setting.
unless there is more to the story. but i realize it personal so you don't have to divulge all here on a public forum. Apologize and offer to sell half and put the money in a money market and watch it grow. |

If your in therapy, guns are probably the least of your worries. If you are spending to much on your hobby, that could be a problem. I would keep the guns in the safe for a while and see how things progress. Out of sight, out of mind. Change the subject as much as possible. If it becomes a major issue, tell her they are in a trust for the kids in case you kick the bucket. If it's still an issue, I would just get the divorce and pay the child support. |

I don't understand the point of having a wife if you are going to keep secrets from her.
You married guys help me out a little - isn't your wife supposed to be your friend, partner, someone you share things with? If you are going to have to run around behind her back being anything less than yourself, what's the point?? |

Our safe could be full of illegal SBR's, SBS's, MG's, and my wife would neither know nor care. She wouldn't know just because she doesn't care, not because I'd keep them secret.
Her mom gave us our first gun so even if she were to complain I'd say to take it up with her mom. |
