Our dryer, after 8 years of abuse, finally quit Saturday.

I didn't have a chance to look at it until today, the belt is broken.

This is a Kenmore dryer purchased at Sears. Model #110.62622101. Belt is part #8066065.

Sears has the belt for $20.38. Appliancezone.com has the part for $3.75 and another different brand for $5.98. Centralapplianceparts.com has them for $8.98.

Anyone ever used appliancezone.com or centralapplianceparts.com? I've found some negative reviews from 2 years ago on appliancezone, but nothing recent. Centralapplianceparts.com has no review history that I can find.

Honestly for the price I may just go ahead and pay the extra $$$ and go with Sears but thought this was worth a post.

Basically, belts are belts.  Only a few companies in the world make them, for everybody else.

Appliance parts prices are jacked as high as possible.  You would be shocked to see the price spread for the same part between the appliance industry and the electrical/electronic industry.

Hope you have skinny arms. Use a 2" putty knife to get the top open.
An extra set of hands (even the sammich maker will do) makes this job
a whole lot easier. Check the roller bearings too. Make sure to disconnect
the power as alot of the work will be done inside the housing by "feel".
Sheet metal and zaps of electricity can cut you pretty good.
Ask me how I know.....

I've had good luck with them as well.

Isn't there a local store?  I've gotten just as good prices in town on common stuff like that.

Might want to put a new idler in while you're at it...
