Is there a way to set FB to notify you when you're "unfriended?"

No.

Why would you want to be notified?

I have a valid reason for asking.   Your smartass post is very cute.
Thank you to the adults that awnsered.

Strange..

Why is the question strange?  Not that I owe an explanation, but I have an old friend who's FB suddenly vanished, and I have no other way to contact him;  I was wondering if he just took his page down, or unfriended everyone and I'm a little concerned about him.

You could go all out and start a daily roster check. Thats the only way.

OP, do a search for your friend, and if you find him then you know where you stand on the totem pole.

Some people take their pages down.  It happens quite a bit.  Then all the sudden they put it back up and it is like they never left.

Yup if you "delete" your page, then go to log in again, its as if nothing happened.

Most adults get a little tired of it after awhile. I deleted my Myspace account years ago because of the bullshit. Also, social networking sites are inevitably relationship killers.

I use mine very little, it has helped me reconnect with folks I haven't talked to since I moved away from my hometown 25 years ago-in fact I've connected with a nephew (long Jerry Springer story) who is now 43, last saw him when he was 18.

There is a plug in for Safari that lets you see who has de-friended you, and other things if you want to manage your account beyond what FB lets you get away with. It's the only reason I run Safari on my PC.

If you searched for his name... and it doesn't pop up... then it kind of answers your own question, does it not?

when you 'unfriend', they will still show up if you search for them.. (also see them listed as members of a group)

IF you block  (or some other term) you become invisible to each other (even if you search for them they wont turn up)
