Over the winter a mouse got in our garage and decided to make a nice nest out of rags and a pheasant wing I was drying to use for tying flies. I've been directed by my wife that cleaning it up today is priority number one.

What are my chances of running into hantavirus when I remove the nest and mouse shit? Other than gloves and a mask what else should I do?

Normally I wouldn't care but in the past week there have been two articles in the paper that talk about it and now I'm concerned about the cleanup.

Mask, gloves and bag that shit up. If it makes you feel better spray with a bleach/water mix.

Will the insurance company cover the garage if I burn it to the ground to get rid of the mouse? We could really use a bigger one.
