The CTR I have on my AR is a bit on the lite side for how heavy my front is. I want to balance it out. For reference, it's a Mega mid length monolithic upper, Noveske 16" with the SJC Lund comp. I like the PRS's adjustability, but a lot of people have been using the UBR lately for this sort of balancing act.

Sorry if the pic didn't show up. I royally screwed up the pics in my last thread.

Poll inbound.

Why make your rifle heavier? That makes no sense.

Of the two stocks metioned, only the PRS is acceptable, and only for a certain type of rifle. The type of rifle in the picture would see no benefit from using a PRS.

The UBR is useless deadweight and unsuitable for any rifle.

Stick with the CTR.

Out of those two, the UBR.

UBR for that rifle.  I have a PRS and I love it, but it is on a gun that weighs about 15lbs.

Most accurate and appropriate response I've seen on here today.

I'd stick with the CTR. I don't understand why you'd purposefully make your rifle heavier. If I wanted a stock with storage, I'd probably get a Crane/LMT stock. They are a little pricey though.

Yes, the UBR does look nice posed on carpets and decks. So it does have that going for it.

I disagree. I shoot "nose to the charging handle" and since I have long arms, the UBR's top half staying stationary right behind the receiver gives me consistent cheek weld every single time.

I can see that.  A well balanced rifle handles better.  Pound for pound a well balanced rifle will seem lighter than a poorly balanced one.

I thought at Arfcom, a lightweight 5.56 carbine was 12 lbs with all the crap on it?

I love my UBR on my 308 rifle.  I also love my ctr on my 5.56.
