Normally have to go every 3 years to get it removed from the doctors.
Watching some videos on youtube....nasty stuff. |
|
Go to Pharmacy.
Ask a knowledgeable countergirl what the best thing for removing ear wax is. Go home, use it. It worked great...kinda like a glycerin, and it bubbled for a bit...then I took a shower and it was gone. I found that it was easier to put the drops in, then plug my ears with cotten so it would not run out. |

ETA: I have the same problem and had a waterpic in my ear this morning. Aside from hearing things I have never heard before, they usually keep it. I don't trust myself enough to try and clean it out myself. |

No shit, though it does say on the package to not insert into the ear canal. |

Your not supposed to use Q-Tips for cleaning your ears. |

Your not supposed to use Q-Tips for cleaning your ears. +1 They can be used to clean the outer ear but aren't intended to clean the inner ear, where most ear wax resides. You can do damage to your ear drum, push bacteria/nasty shit in to get an infection, or push ear wax further in and really make it hard to get out. I used to have a problem with it in both ears, every time I'd go swimming or whatnot I'd get swimmer's ear for a couple days. Sucked. Now I go to those quick-serve clinics found in grocery stores or CVS/Walgreens and have them do it. It's about $85 but well worth it... |

My fiancee removes earwax from veterans' ears at least once a week.
She will laugh at and mock you if you use a q-tip to clean your ears. Wax in your ears is fine, and if it needs to be taken out, it needs to be carefully removed and not compacted into the canal with a q-tip. Regardless of the threat of puncturing your eardrum, that q-tip is compressing the wax in your ear and making the problem worse. |

Earwax removal fluid and an Ear irrigator. Get them both at Walgreens or a Pharmacy. The fluid doesn't work for me unless I use warm water and the squishy bulb ear-irrigator tool to flush it out. Prepare for some weird freaking sensations inside your ear canal while that stuff foams on contact with your earwax. The solution is harmless but it feels bizzare and uncomfortable in your ear, especially if you can't get all of it out. It may take a few nights of doing this and some persistence to get a huge chunk of cruddy wax to flop out of your ear.
An ex-girlfriend of mine had a very strange ear-tongue fetish. While I was with her I had no issues with wax impaction. |

In before the shitstorm of 'ear candle' lovers and haters. I use a q tip after a shower, have never had any issue. Same here, every morning. I don't understand why some people can't use q-tips, but I guess everyone's ear is different. For me, I insert it, then drag it outwards; wax comes with it. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Foamy ear plugs like some of us use at the range. Use them as directed (actually put them in your ear hole). Let them sit for 10 min or so before pulling them out. Kicks a Q-tips ass. Is that baby in your avatar yours? Yea, she was a little unhappy at the time of that photo. I think she learned that look from her mother. |

Last time at the doctor he used some scope thing with a wire hook/scoop thing to carve it out. The whole torture was about 30 minutes and my ear bled until the next morning. Apparently the brick I had residing in my inner ear had adhered to the ear hairs and had to be ripped out. The doc was impressed and said it was the worst one he'd ever seen. Looked like a thumb made out of peat moss when he finally tore it out. So I've got that going for me. |

I had this done when I was younger because I had a nasty build up that made me unable to hear. I had no idea how much gunk could fit inside the ear canal, let alone my head. I felt like a super hero with some sort of super human hearing ability for the next few days after. Amazing, just amazing. |

gorilla glue on the end of a cotton swab. Let it sit and dry for a while before you pull it out.
Seriously though. Before you stick shit in your ears, make sure its clean. My father just survived a brain infection (pneumococcal meningitis) that originated in his ear. The infectious disease doctor said it may have been pushed in to the inner ear from a q-tip or finger. It was terrible and he's aged 40 years in 4 weeks. I use debrox maybe once a year, couple of drops of peroxide after the shower, then a swab on the outside only. |
