Holy crap, you guys need to read the epic butt hurt about the old guys comment about "when wars were fought by real men". Some people need to just bitch about something I guess.
I do wonder what the original firing mechanism was as someone pointed out there were no percussion caps in the 15th century. I guess it was some form of matchlock system. |

I bet he has never been deployed. That pisses me off too, and I was never in the service. What a dumb old fuck, to make a statement like that. |

Quoted: I'm curious how that firing mechanism worked... they didn't have percussion caps for hundreds of years afterwords. I'm guessing one guy aimed it and another held a slowmatch to those holes. Or just a small brazier and dip the hole into the brazier. The weapon is a "minute of crowd" weapon, but a hit from one of those musket balls would be discouraging. |

Quoted: Quoted: Wow, why doesn't it appear to have any recoil? No Projectiles, just Powder and Wadding..they were afraid to blow it up if they had used any type of ball in it. They actually hit the cardboard in later shots. A .69 musket ball is what they used. That was actually rather entertaining to watch. Thanks for posting that, OP! ETA: When I opened the thread, I figured it'd be about the weird russian "boomstick" that worked oh-so-well on that bus ![]() |
