OK,
This is new to me, but may not be new to others, but I have been noticing advertisements in original posts in some of topics I have recently viewed. It's not that I hate all the adds, I just don't understand the government motors (GM) ads I see, especially with the political attitude present around here.

I may be reading too much into this, but WTF, first take taxpayer money to keep your mismanaged company afloat, and then randomly infect sites with your garbage advertising. FUCK OFF Chevy! Eat shit and die!

Just me, or the beer talking?

It's something new that they started today.  Team members and some folks running firefox don't see them.

Weird. I'm not seeing them as a team member, but any ad-block browser addon should fix it.

I know right, I may be slightly biased as a Ford fan, but the advertisements at the top of the page for firearm and accessory manufacturers are plenty for this site.

I understand that this is a massive site and it has all kinds of hosting/upkeep/whatever costs associated with it. But does it really make sense for people like you and I to have to buy memberships at $20something a year to hide ads? For me that works out to about $.10/post...it makes sense for those who make 10k posts per year.

The expanded search capability alone is worth the $24. Not to mention entrance to the annual Team Member Giveaway.

BTW- Thank you for the useful and search friendly thread title.

Google (site:ar15.com) search has always worked fine for me. Don't get me wrong, if I posted a lot I'd have no problem buying the membership.

I must say, that at least it is better than the Dodge banner ads I have to see on a Mustang website that I pay for membership on.
