To buy a bullet proof vest on the internets, or own one at all for that matter?
Before someone says to use the search tool, I tried, and I failed to find anything. |

I know my former home state restricts mail order of body armor for private citizens. All must be sold face to face.
LA law will prevail, as there is no federal restriction to the mail order of BA to non-restricted persons or those persons not engaged in committing a felony. |

Depends on state law. For example here in Virginia, It is not illegal for law abiding people to buy, possess, or wear body armor. But we do have a law regarding criminals wearing it: § 18.2-287.2. Wearing of body armor while committing a crime; penalty. Any person who, while committing a crime of violence as defined in § 18.2-288 (2) or a felony violation of § 18.2-248 or subdivision (a) 2 or 3 of § 18.2-248.1, has in his possession a firearm or knife and is wearing body armor designed to diminish the effect of the impact of a bullet or projectile shall be guilty of a Class 4 felony. |

I got that from Virginia's LIS (Legislative Information System) > Code of Virginia. A quick search found this for Louisiana that looks similar: http://www.legis.state.la.us/lss/tsrssearch.htm |
