So WTF, I bought a couple 32 ounce bottles tonight and I got home and read the labels they said they were 3.2% only (at most) alcohol, what is average alcohol?  What is avg alcohol of bud light?
3/23/2011 5:51:34 PM EDT
[#1]
bud light is 4.2
bud is 5.0

You're not in Oklahoma, are you?  Did no one warn you?  You have 7 minutes and counting to get to a liquor store for real beer.  FO!

High ABV =/= Flavor.

I have a really nice homebrew that's only 3.5% in the fridge right now.

If you wanna get drunk quick on bud light money, by cheap liquor.

Also, dumping a shot or 3 of vodka into a bottle of Odoul's works pretty well too

Bud is 5% except in jurisdictions that restrict the alcohol content. Bud Lite is 4.2%. Average for beer is probably about 4-6%. MN doesn't permit grocery stores to sell beer with greater than 3.2% ABV.

natty ice 5.9%

There really isn't that much of a difference when you are talking about Bud.  What you bought is 3.2% by weight, which is equal to about 4% by volume.  I think normal Bud is 5% by volume.

It is enough of a difference for me to avoid it though.

It is probably because it is measured by weight.  Most of the country measures by volume, but some states like Utah measure by weight.  If it is measured by weight then 3.2 is about 4% which is standard for bud light.

So yeah, bud light is 3.2 everywhere by weight.

Beer yes.  Booze no.  Nothing over 3.2% by weight other than at liquor stores.

fail

You will have to drink more, but not 1200 calories.  Full strength budweiser is 3.7, so for every 6 pack you drink you will have to drink approx. 1/2 an extra beer of 3.2 to get the same amount of alcohol in a full strength bud..  hardly 1200 calories.

The local Safeway has an attached, but separate liquor/beer store.  Not a terrible arrangement.

Beats the fuck out of the rules back in PA.  State run liquor/wine stores, and beer distributors were separate.  Other than that, 6-pack carry out from bars, but that's it.  Fuck that.

I mock what I don't understand.

For beer and wine, yes.
Real liquor has to be bought at the licensed liquor store.  In the closest town to me it's a grocery; in the next closest it's a Rite-Aid drug store.

A response like that makes me want to go out to Total Wine to purchase some Belgian ale with 14+% alcohol.

In Ohio, back when the drinking age was 18, 3.2% beer was all you could buy untill you hit 21. Then you could buy regular beer.
